Clients Training


It is impossible to walk through the main markets of Kumasi, Techiman and Accra without meeting the smiling faces of our clients. The branch openings in Accra and Techiman in 2005 presented grand opportunities to gather with our clients publicly and listen to their stories firsthand.

As part of the our drive to achieve our mission of providing financial, business developmental and transformational services to our valued clients, Opportunity Ghana continues to explore innovative ways of delivering value added services.

We believe strongly that both our clients and we stand to benefit from training which develops well informed clients who can manage their businesses and the financial resources we entrust to them for maximum results for both their businesses and families and which enables them to repay their loans.

In August we sought and received funding from Opportunity UK for delivery of basic professional business and livelihood training to our clients. This training is being delivered by the National Board of Small Scale Industries (NBSSI.) The National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) Ghana specializes in delivery of professional training to Ghanaian small and medium scale entrepreneurs.


We strongly believe the training was aimed at developing knowledge and skills to enable our clients manage their businesses well including their finances and loans, savings, customer care and plan properly for their families and future. It is our aim to deliver these professional training sessions on an annual basis to clients depending on the availability of financial resources.

The approved training modules and content as agreed between NBSSI and Opportunity Ghana after a survey of clients needs included:

• Small business loan management
• Costing and pricing business products and services
• Basic business records keeping
• Maintaining consistent customer care
• Importance of savings
• Livelihood empowerment
